The inspiration for my artwork comes from the natural world, indeed it was my growing interest in birdwatching during my teenage years which first prompted me to try and paint the subjects of my new found enthusiasm. Moving on from those early attempts to copy the illustrations in bird guides I have formulated a style of highly detailed scenes portraying wildlife subjects working with goache and watercolour. In most cases these feature common species and everyday objects gathered close to my home in Worlingworth, though occasionally I like to stray into the more exotic wildlife camp using animal references obtained from zoos and from My Tanzanian safari trip in 2006. Most of my work is sold at local art exhibitions in towns and villages across mid-Suffolk, but I have sold work with the Wildlife Art Society International at their annual exhibitions elsewhere in the country where I was awarded a bronze medal for excellence. I have also produced several peices of illustration work for publishers including the RSPB young ornithologists club magazine. In 2009 I produced 'The Worlingworth Wayfinder', an illustrated fully detailed parish map for walkers and horse riders, distributed to every house in the village to mark the completion of the parish right of way scheme.
