John Vesty Go Back!

John trained originally in London as an actor, pursuing that career for almost a decade before reverting to his equally unremunerative, erstwhile passion, painting! Although now he spends most of the time working in the studio, in the past he has worked as: An interior mural artist (once demonstrating mural painting on Discovery) and a display-mannequin make-up artist. He restored pictures for a London gallery and for several successive years exhibited and taught landscape painting at 'Art in Action' at Waterperry in Oxfordshire.

He has shown in various galleries around the country, including six one-man exhibitions. Since moving to Norfolk venues have included: Harleston Gallery; Halesworth Gallery; Horace Blue, Norwich; Cork Brick Gallery, Bungay (ongoing); Digby Gallery, Colchester (solo exhib); The Chimney Mill Gallery, West Stow; Corke Gallery, Liverpool (biennale 2010); Norfolk Open Studios and Waveney Springs Collective.

He paints almost exclusively in oil, with subject matter ranging from still-life and interiors often with a reduced palette, to figures and Portraits. He is intended to move permanently to France early in the New year initially to paint landscapes 'en plein air' then... who knows?
